Let me introduce myself.
My name is Dirk and I started One Clever Human because I got really tired of seeing bad content and messaging on the internet.
Over the years I’ve had to express complex ideas in ways that non-technical people could comprehend and illustrate why something or another was good (or bad) using stories and analogies. I’m good at that.
So much BS
You see, I’ve been in IT for the better part of my life and in that capacity I’ve had lots of people ask for help. Mainly business owners that didn’t want to get taken advantage of by slick internet marketing agencies.
I found that it was pretty easy for me to see through marketing BS and steer these business owners straight so they didn’t get ripped-off.
Mind you not every rip-off is intentional, though many are. It can be as innocent as designers that place the beauty of their design over the needs of the business. Or developers that fall in love with slick technology even though it doesn’t convert traffic as well as a less high-tech solution.
Who does this!?!
Sometimes it’s simple things. Have you ever been to a restaurant website on your phone and couldn’t find the number or the address? or if you could find the number it wouldn’t automatically call when you pressed it?
Have you ever read a company’s website a few times and still couldn’t figure out what they do?
Whoever was responsible was not doing that business a favor! And in my opinion that business was taken advantage of!
Long story short: this is why I started One Clever Human. To help businesses like your get more sales.

Let's be honest. These kinds of things are always a bit awkward. We don't really know each other, let alone like or trust one another. Since my thing is really getting to understand customers, let's have a "date".

It’s just a brief date and I’ll even put out a little bit so you can get an idea of how I work and what I can can do for you and your business.

All I need to get started is your name, email and URL. I will look over your site and see what I think is good and not-so-good and give you a report.

Then we meet via Zoom and go over it together. I’ll go over some select parts of your site and content in detail and give you my thoughts on what works and doesn’t. We will discuss my findings and take it from there.

Most of all I want this to be valuable to you. Because if it is there is a higher likelihood that you will want to pay me to do more.

What’s the catch?

There’s a couple of reasons I am doing this. First of all I think it provides me with an opportunity to show what I can do and leave you with some valuable insight into what may be lacking in your site.

The other reason is quite honestly that I am just recently shifting careers and don’t have much of a portfolio to share. Rather than create a bunch of “pretend” clients and put them up, I’d rather actually be of service and show you how I can operate in a real life scenario. Your real life scenario.

Will some people take my free advice, kick me to the curb and do it on their own? Sure. I’m willing to take that risk to find some quality clients that I can work with.
